Bio
Roger Ver began buying bitcoin in early 2011 and invested in early companies including BitInstant, Blockchain.com, BitPay and Kraken. He was among the founding members of the Bitcoin Foundation and was nicknamed “Bitcoin Jesus” for his early promotion.[1]
During the block-size debate he backed larger blocks and became closely associated with Bitcoin Cash, though he says he did not create it. He was CEO and later executive chairman of Bitcoin.com.[1]
He was indicted in the U.S. on tax charges in April 2024, which he disputed. On Oct 14, 2025 he entered a deferred prosecution agreement requiring a $49.9 million payment, and the indictment was dismissed.[1]
